I am Rebekah Saxanoff, a licensed clinical social worker providing psychotherapy to individuals struggling with mental illness and/or addiction issues. I specialize in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorders resulting from either military experiences or childhood physical, mental, or sexual abuse. During my years of practice, I have worked in Pennsylvania, and more recently, North Carolina in a variety of positions ranging from psychotherapist to case manager for private as well as non-profit agencies. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and I am licensed as a clinical social worker in the state of North Carolina. I received my master of social work degree in 1986 at Florida State University. I also continue to attend professional conferences to expand my knowledge and understanding of current treatment techniques.
I take a compassionate and holistic approach to assisting you in understanding and resolving the issues you may be confronting. I believe that all individuals have an innate wisdom, which when accessed, can guide us successfully to a resolution of any dilemma (or conflict) while taking into account our own individual timing. My role is to help you access and recognize your own inner wisdom as an ally in treatment. In this way, you will learn the importance of self-respect, self-acceptance, and to design a harmonious life that promotes healthy interactions with others and best reflects your own unique gifts and talents.
